My name is Matt and I’m a beer guy. For me, there is no pleasure greater than good friends, good food, and good brews. This blog is meant to inform and guide fellow beer lovers to what they might like. I’ll discuss beers according to my tastes, but if the description sounds like something you generally like, then go ahead and try it! One beer may not be for me, but it might be your new favorite. Founder’s Kentucky Breakfast Stout – Founder’s Brewing Co., Grand Rapids, MI.
 ABV: 11.2%
Style: Imperial Stout.
Drank: 12 oz. bottle.
Pour: Black and syrupy.
Head: Brown, thin, and creamy. Leaves great lacing.
Nose: Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and oak.
Palate: Coffee, chocolate, oak, vanilla. Finishes bitter and dry.
Mouthfeel: Full-bodied and creamy.
This one is super complex. All the flavors hit your palate at once and form a completely unique flavor. It’s not as thick texturally as I was expecting, though. It’s thick feeling in your mouth, but it doesn’t coat your tongue as you swallow. The Black Magick has a leg up here, I think, but KBS wins in every other area. Can’t wait until next year!
I would pair this one with another bottle of KBS. See that picture? Yeah.
