My name is Matt and I’m a beer guy. For me, there is no pleasure greater than good friends, good food, and good brews. This blog is meant to inform and guide fellow beer lovers to what they might like. I’ll discuss beers according to my tastes, but if the description sounds like something you generally like, then go ahead and try it! One beer may not be for me, but it might be your new favorite. Pale 31 – Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Paso Robles, CA.
ABV: 4.8%
Style: APA.
Seasonality: Year-round.
Drank: 12oz. bottle, pint glass.
Pour: Honey-like color, and clear, with an off-white head. Leaves loose lacing.
Aroma: Citrus, caramel malt, and not much else. Quite thin.
Taste: Quite malty, with a sturdy hoppy backbone.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and dry.
Quite drinkable, and extremely balanced. I like it, even though the flavors aren’t terribly exciting.
Food pairing: This beer would do well with barbecue.
